Why was there no mention of Elizabeth keckley. She was a former Slave who designed and made the gowns for Mary todd Lincoln among other things. Please do your research and stop pushing the achievements of Slaves under the rug.

Tough life. Bad food, miserable conditions, vermin and then either get killed or maimed. A soldier endures all this and follows orders. Down throughout history, the same story. Protect your country at all costs.

Might even be better to have bugs in the hardtack, atleast there’s a few nutrients and protein in the bugs compared to just 100 percent flour.

I am actually extremely impressed that guy was only an hr into building the raccoon. Would have taken me like 3 or 4 days if not a week of 8 hrs a day to get to that point.

So, if you are doing a Civil War "living history," why would you not be using period cookware? If you had got rid of all the grates and modern cast iron, this could have been a very good demonstration.

I was going to have my very first pet, which was a cat, taxidermied, but I felt like she would've never slept in peace of I did that. So, I ended up just having her cremated instead, and I keep her ashes in a beautiful oak urn, which I keep in front of a large window with a beautiful view. She LOVED sitting in the sun in front of windows, so it's only fitting.

You failed to mention that her dress designer and stylist was Elizabeth Keckley, a former slave who worked and bought her freedom and was Mary's confidante. Give credit when credit is certainly due. www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/295206/behind-the-scenes-by-elizabeth-keckley/
